Help, my little muchkin has been coughing a lot lately, and I think he has his first hairball. I gave him some gook from a tube, think that will do it?

Re: Hairball
Oh gosh...they actually have a special food now that aids in that and I can't remember the name of it for the life of me! It just recently came out..

Re: Hairball
My cat has responded well to the Pounce Hairball Treats. They have the medication in the middle. I had a terrible time giving him the stuff from the tube, but he loves the treats, and they really took care of the problem.

Re: Hairball
My friend on IM just told me to do something, and I think it might have worked. He said to hold him up by his front legs so that his back legs are just off the ground for a few seconds and I should hear a gulp and that means it went down. I felt/heard something. Then he kicked me and i put him down.

I think I bought those treats. He is very particular with treats. The tube goob...the first time I smushed it on his face so he had to clean it off and he liked it ever since.

Maybe it was the pounce treats, but I thought it was actual dry food by Purina....I just heard the commercial the other day. If I remember, I'll post it.

Re: Hairball
Hmmmm. Well they both eat Purina dry and wet DM food. It's diabetic food because one had diabetes for a short period of time (strange - it went away), so I chose to keep them on that diet just in case.

I tried the tube stuff once.. They say to put it on their paws or face so they'll like it off.
My dear lovable furball figured out how to FLING it off his paws. I remember looking at the ceiling of my bathroom thinking 'that's gonna be fun to remove'
Most major cat food makers make a verison for hair ball control. It's finding diet/hair ball control foods that is fun!! hahaha
