hey ladies who do you all suggest for hair and make up. I don't want anyone overly expensive because my i don't want my BMs to pay like $150 for make up and another $90 for hair. Can anyone suggest someone who will come to my home and has reasonable prices???? Thnx :)

I just posted about Debbie from Aurora Salon in Oyster Bay- she is the owner and she is sooo excellent to work with- great job, and I was shocked when she showed me her prices- they are extremely reasonable. I have pics of my hair trial in my album-

Definetely! I used them and they were awesome!
Jillian from Gorgeous Faces does great work too! She didn Jen2999's MU for her wedding and it was awesome!

thanks ladies!!!! I def. love jenn and oksana.. but the girls may not be able to do make up with the prices i got.. not that i think the prices are bad but it does add up to be a pit pricey with both together... and if they dont want to use them i wont make the minimum :( so i'll have to wait and see what happens. I offered to pick up most of the hair..but the make up i can't afford for 6 girls.. so i'll have to look into my options :)

Jillian from Gorgeous Faces did our makeup for my SIL's wedding and she was awesome. There are pics of her wedding and our makeup in one my Punkinedibride07's wedding albums.

Check out Fresh Face Foward....Sabrina & Stacey...trials are only $40 each and they are so incredibly patient...poor stacey redid my makeup a thousand times to make sure I loved it!

I have found that most hair/mu people that come to you on the day of the wedding cost around 250 for each girl. On my wedding day, the hair and makeup girls walked away with about 1200 dollars for 5 people and my Mom's hair looked awful.Just reminded myself to write that letter...

If the $$ is an issue (which for 6 ppl it is a lot of $$) why don't you let ppl handle their own hair and MU? I'll tell you in the weddings I've been a BM at
1) With that many BMs they might not even have time to get it done b/c of getting ready, helping the bride etc.. (this happened to me at my sister's wedding. what we did was do our own MU and the artist did everyone's eyes. It came out great.
2) If you have time have a good salon open early or book them completely so everyone can get their stuff done, saves $$$. I did this with my other sister and was really happy and we were all done at the same time, about 1 hr total. I know you wanted to do it at home but it's worth saving the $$$. If it's about getting ready pics, you can fake the funk like they're really doing it for the pics but already have it done.
3) also about going out: get to the make up counters at the mall, MAC store etc... This would be if you let them do it on their own. They should pick an artist beforehand, book an appt and get a cell #. You usually have to buy some MU but it's under $100, unless you go to NARS or something and you get to keep the MU.
4) Check out a MU school (if you need #s I can give you some) at least you'll have a lot of choices and the work is usually just as good.
5) You can take the $1500 and send one of your BMs for a MU course (i'll give you names of if interested) and let them learn how to do it to do it for you. or you can send them for airbrush, which i think is $600 a class + equipment + supplies. ( I know this sounds nuts, but I'm a big MU fanatic and I would totally do this myself if I had the time that morning. I just don't think i'll do everyone's stuff and still have time 4 me)
Sorry about the loooooooooong reply. I wanted to give you lots of options. I was thinking about the same thing. I have a few MU artists I can Fm you if you want, but the prices are the same and they are ust MU, no hair.

I used Kacey from Khoulouds. She did a wonderful job and in my opinion was not expensive at all. She is a vendor on here....post on vendors helping brides and I am sure she will get back to you!
