I am getting married in about 5 months and haven't had a hair or make up trial yet. So I figured I better get my butt moving and call some place...
i got a price quote from a hair salon/spa -updo trial was $49.00 and makeup trial was $50.00
Does this sound about right? or does anyone have any suggestions on places to call in the BAyShore/Babylon/Islip area?
any feedback would be great.

I am paying $100 for har and $80 for makeup...the prices usually differ... I am using Oksana for make up and Jenn from the Hair Genie... they are both vendors on here and will travel to you...

Where did you call already? I think I am trying Dea for hair (Main St. in Islip), and I tried a woman for makeup someone on here recommended (Dawn Mas). Her trial was free, and she comes to your house day of. I went to her house in Sayville for the trial, but she was really good.

Those prices you were quoted are very good. I'm going to a salon to have my hair done at $48.00 and my makeup is going to be $80.00 but she's coming to me the day of.
Prices do differ but be careful, those who are cheap might not be as good or dependable. I had that issue with a makeup lady that I went to. She was wonderful and make me look beautiful for only $50.00. To this day she hasn't called me back so I had to go elsewhere. Just be aware.

That sounds right to me.
I used Jillian from Gorgeous Faces and she does such an amazing job and is so fun to work with. She'll travel to you for the wedding -call her!

alot of hte recommended vendors on here are already booked for my date...either i procrastinated to long or alot of people have my date....
i called nouvelle spa in Babylon, Cactus Salon in E.Islip...
1 of my bridesmaids mentioned DEA, but never got back to me on prices...

I haven't made any appointments yet, but from what I have been hearing (reading), that's sounds pretty cheap to me! Let me know how it goes! I am looking for affordable hair and makeup!

my trial was with sachiko and it's free which was yay for me! her salon is in the city called Bellegente. you just haev to make your way there for hte trial but during hte day of your wedding she can go to you which makes things so much easier for the bride. i payed $500 for 4 girls' hair and makeup (5hrs' worth). she was even nice enough to do my mom's hair and makeup for free (shhh!). your price quotes from your vendor sounds very reasonable also. happy hunting!

I just started going to Dea salon for my cuts. I used to go to Harvey Allen and they are expensive for Islip. I was really happy with my last cut and I intend to go back. I was thinking of asking about their bridal services. Could you FM me the info for Dawn Mas if you have it? Thanks
