Hey girls - I was playing with hairstyles today. I have VERY CURLY hair and it almost always ends up in a ponytail by the end of the day. I originally planned to wear it up, but both FH future SIL think I should do something different.
I don't want to go straight, but is the half up/half down too 80's?? BE HONEST!! Keep in mind it won't be nearly as frizzy as the pics on the big day!
Oh yeah - the pics are in my 'Hair & Jewelry' album.

Re: Hairstyle too 80'S????
I don't think it's '80s' at all! My hair is curly and can frizz like crazy, also, but I am wearing it half up and half down, too! I do straighten it at times, but in the summer it's just not worth it. I am gonna leave it curly and half up.

I dont think it looks 80's, but I think it looks kinda casual? I dont know, maybe it would look more formal if it were all up?

Yeah - I agree...plus I really don't want it on my neck all night! I'm going to keep looking for a nice updo that won't look like my everyday ponytail!
THANKS!

Yea it looks very nice but maybe too casual. If you still want the half up look and keep it curly maybe you can have the curls combed out on the top where your hair will be cliped. That tends to make the look more formal or maybe even have all your curls softened a little with a curling iron or rollers.

I dont think it looks formal enough. JMO.My hair is curly too and I wanted it to be different for my wedding so I had it straight in the front and big curls in the back (I wasnt about to worry about straightening and it frizzing on me)
You jewelry is so pretty. Its awesome that you have your great grandmas jewelry.

I don't think it looks too 80s, but I guess I agree with others that it might look too casual. I say do a trial with an updo to see if that way will be more formal.
My favorite updo I have done on my hair is where they do a french twist in the back, but then leave curly hair up on top and make it look all nice.
Or maybe you can do a chignon (like below). I wouldn't do it as exactly in the pic below - I like when all the hair is tucked in cause it looks neater, rather than pieces coming out like they have in the pic.
