Hairstylists for curly hair

Hey everyone so as I am starting to plan, I want to know if any other curly haired girls have had their hair trials If so, any recommendations? Very careful as not many know how to work on curly hair. also, any pics, suggestions on hairstyles, possibly half up-half down?

I am in the same boat.

I usually go to Ouidad in the city for my haircuts but they want $500 to come out the day of and do my hair.

They suggested I come in the day before to have my hair set, naturally curly, and then just pay someone to put it up.

Keep me posted if you hear of anyone good.

hi! one of the girls on the '08 boards just got married and her hair looked AMAZING on her wedding day! if you look in her album, you'll see how curly her hair usually is! maybe if you FM her she can tell you where she got her hair done. HTH!

Re: Hairstylists for curly hair

I have curly hair, and I stared by thinking I was going to do half up half down straight style. I ended up doing a loose up style with curls. It just framed my face better, and suited my dress better.

I went through 5 trials.

They all use a straight Iron first to smooth the hair, then use the curling iron to shape.

I literally woke up washed hair in the morning, let it air dry in all its frizzy glory. In the afternoon went to trial, she grabbed an iron smoothed it all out then used the curling iron and the texture of the hair was nice and smooth.

I'm using
Bridal Touch by Elena

And this is a bad picture (from my phone) of the hair trial after a drive with the windows open.

This is what I love about what she did, the style looks so free and loose, but it holds up like a mold!

edit: pic didn't attach, here is one with my digital veil, trying out the birdcage net thing...

I'm in the same boat!!!!
I usually only go to Devachan in the city for my curls.
I just booked Kacey from Khoulouds. I was adamant about using my own curls, setting it myself and having her just put it half up. When I went for my trial, it was a humid, bad hair day. She said 'See, you can't depend on using your own curls', and used a curling iron. I don't have pics, but it looked very, very natural! Not like 'curling iron curls'. She said if we have good weather, I can get up and wash and set my hair if I want to, or we can just do it this way. She strongly recommended doing it with the iron because it is so much more predictable. I think that is what I'm going to do. Hope that helps!
