I would like to know what you girls think about this situation. My cousin is a hair dresser and is doing my hair for my wedding. I have 10 girls in our bridal party. Many of them do not live near where I am getting married. SO, I am taking care of the hotel the night before my wedding for them to stay at so they can be there to get ready in the morning. My cousin said she would bring two or three friends that are also hair dressers to the hotel to do the bridal party's hair for $80 a girl (for up-dos). Do you think that is too much to ask my girls to pay? Should I look into a salon near where my wedding is going to be instead? I have no clue

I think that's what most salons will charge for an up do anyway. I think it's pretty reasonable. Plus, if they go to a salon they still have to add a tip. Since these women are keeping the money you don't have to throw in as big a tip b/c the money doesn't go to a salon. That's how much my hair dresser is charging and I think mine is $100.

I think most places charge that much for up-dos anyway, so it's not unreasonable. Besides, you are paying for their hotel room.

I think normal salon prices are around $60 for an updo. Ask your cousin if they are washing and drying hair or if it needs to be washed and dried already. It does seem like a lot to me. I have looked a lot of places for hair and that seems to be on the higher side. Some people do charge that, but if it were me I would just call and ask some questions and tell her the girls didn't think it would be that much. I bet she comes down a bit in her price, especially since the money is all theirs. JMHO

They are already giving it to her for half off. The real price if they were doing it for a stranger would be $160.00.

i have paid $80 to get my hair done to just attend a wedding as a GUEST ( for family members)
and I have paid $100 to have my hair done as a BM. . .

I think that is a very fair price. I think you should enthusiastically tell your BMs about it, but not force them to do it.
If its really important to you that they all have updos, and one or more don't have the money, then perhaps you can speak to them privately and offer to pay for it; explain that it is important to you.

I would say shop around at other salons and find out their prices. I honestly don’t think it is unreasonable if you are paying for the room so they can all get their hair done.
