I would really like to cancel my booking with Leonard’s of Great Neck. My fiancé and I were recently hit with an unforeseen tragedy and having this wedding now would be unwise. It is a Friday night wedding on February 16, 2007. They were giving us a good deal and the staff has been excellent thus far. We went to a food tasting and were very satisfied. We put down a hefty down payment and really need the money back.
Please if you or anybody you know is interested in booking this date at Leonard’s, let me know. Please feel free to FM me with any questions. Thanks so much.

Re: Hall cancellation- pleaaaaaaase help
I am so sorry to hear about your situation. I suggest possibly putting the post on the 08 forum...maybe some of the girls may want to get married earlier?
good luck with everything

I'm really sorry to hear about your situation... Have you contacted the hall and explain the situation to them? If I hear of anyone who is looking I will pass on the info to them.

I haven't contacted them yet- I guess I'm feeling like no news is good news but I have to make the dreaded call soon.

I wish you the best of luck.... Is the hall located in Nassau? If not, then u might be able to cancel with no penalties.

I would def. call the hall asap. When I met with my hall cooridinator (not Lendards thoug) she said that if anything happens whether weather related or tragedy they would postpone it and we would loose no money.

i called and was told that the cancellation fee is 300. i would get the rest of the money back only if someone books the date or else i lose it.

Can you just take your deposit and use it for another time ~ say if you changed to 2008?

Re: Hall cancellation- pleaaaaaaase help
you would lose only $300 dollars if you cancel? or do you need to find someone for them as well?

Re: Hall cancellation- pleaaaaaaase help
the $300 is for a cancellation fee. If nobody books then I lose the deposit that I left which was over 3k. I'm not responsible for finding anyone to book but I'd like to know that someone definitely wanted the date rather then the hall saying they weren't able able to book. Not that I think Leonard's would do this but I read a post where a bride at a different hall cancelled her date( thus leaving a spot avavilable) and she called back pretending to be someone else trying to book the date and was told nothing was available. So they booked her spot without telling her. She did get her money back however.
