Hallow-to-Hem Dresses

Hi ladies! My dress needs to be measured from hallow -to-hem when order. Do you need to have the exact shoes you will wear for that? I feel like 8.5 months before the wedding is too soon to get my wedding shoes just for the measurement.

For you girls that had dresses that required that you be measured from hallow-to-hem, did you buy your shoes? or just used shoes that were the approximate heel height?

TIA

I went and bought the pair of shoes I am going to wear for the wedding. I ordered my dress about a year before and wasn't really prepared to buy shoes at that point, but you need the exact heel that you will be wearing. Otherwise the length will be wrong.

So as much as you don't want to look for shoes yet, I think it's better to get them and get measured correctly. Just think, it will be one more thing checked off your list now anyway!

I already had my wedding-day shoes (will be the same ones i wore to my engagement party), so i brought them wit me when doing to the hollow-to-hem measurement.

all you really need is a shoe with a heel the same height as what you'd like to wear on the day of your wedding.

I had the wedding shoes when I was measured for the hollow-to-hem measurement. I ordered my shoes from Shoebuy.com.

I didn't bring the shoes I was going to wear (I don't own them yet) but I did go through my closet and realized that all of the dress shoes I own have the exact same heel height so I would definitely be wearing shoes of that height at the wedding because apparently that is all I buy!!! so I just brought in a random pair of heels for measurement purposes.

As long as you have the heel size you should be ok. I did it. also, depending in the work on the bottom, you may have some material to work with if the shoes were too low of a heel
