Okay FH and I love Halloween, Every year we look for a reason to dress up and hope that someone throws a party! We are like kids haha! My question for you girlies is, Do you think that having a Halloween engagement party would be fun or just lame. Yes, I would want everyone to dress up. Am I crazy or does this sound like something you would actually do?

That is such a cool idea!! I wanted to have a Halloween themed wedding since my date is the week before, but I don't think most people would dress us. Everyone I know is so lame...lol

My sister actually had her engagement party on Halloween BUT it wasn't a costume party. However many people asked if they were suppose to dress up so I think people would do it!!! Good luck deciding.....sounds Different and fun to me!!!!

I think dressing up for an engagemnet party is a great idea! Go for it ! It's the first I have ever heard of it will make it memorable

Oh wow you need to get your invitations out within the next two weeks so I'd do that first. You can get halloween theme invites and print them out yourself so it will look like you had them done but will be so much more cost efficient
A few ideas possibly...You can ask everyone that they need to come as famous couples.
If you are renting a hall or something and you are crafty you can have pumpkins as your centerpieces carved out with 'happy engagement', or hearts or your names or an engagement ring and candles in the middle to light them up.
A fog machine will also add a little spookiness to your theme.
I hope my ideas helped you a little bit or at least gave you some inspiration for other ideas!

You are so crafty!!! I Love the idea of famous couples!! Its awesome. Now, the pumpkin carving sounds a little hard!! Is there any easy way to do this? lol Thank you so much

A pumkin carving kit would be essential for you to get!
To do either your names or Happy engagement...print out block letters on Microsoft Word, then cut them out and use them as a tracing tool on the pumpkin. Now is the easy...yet a little time consuming part. Just poke a small hole in the middle of each letter with the 'pumpkin knive' then gradually work your way out and you'll be able to get the letters perfectly.
Now with the hearts, find a picture of any heart online print it out, cut it out and trace it onto your pumkin like you did with the letters. Then poke the hole in the middle and work your way out.
If I was home I would post my pumpkin carving from last year. I used that poking the hole and working my way out technique also and it works perfectly (although I draw the picture on the pumpkin freehand)!

I am partial to your idea seeing as my birthday is October 30th. I think it is great I had a halloween sweet 16 and everyone game dressed!

my FH's cousins did that and everyone had such a great time - everyone was required to go in costume - we were unable to go, but everyone said it was the best party they ever went to!
