Halloween DIYs?

Halloween DIYs?

our wedding falls on Halloween weekend as the date is pretty personal to us. While a lot of elements have been planned out already, we both are dying to incoporate a bunch of halloween details... any suggestions?

I was thinking of those fake pumpkins and carving some imagery (we are both artists) as a bit of decoration on the place card table or something. Do you guys have other ideas?

Halloween specific would be preferred over autumn/fall themes

We would be using those trees they have in the Michael's Halloween village as a cake topper. And as a ring 'pillow' (put them on the branches).

And we'd be having a masquerade party.

BM's would be brides of Frankenstein (just because I love the hair).

Coffin shaped invitations.

The favors would be in the plastic cauldrons.

Candy corn, candy corn, candy corn.

See my albums for fake pumpkins.

I really want to re-do my whole wedding now.......

um your pumpkins look utterly real... i adore them! I saw some in Martha Stewart but that lady has way too much time on her hands.

The bridesmaids and invites are all set in stone, but i would love to go back in time and totally do it up halloween style!

and... if you haven't heard lewis black's bit on candy corn, you MUST get it immediately. hysterical.

keep the ideas coming, i love them all!

My FI swears Lewis Black has the inside line on candy corn. I'll eat it by the handful.

And yeah, most of the fake pumpkins are really convincing.
They take a little while to do - FI broke out the drill and went to town. The silhouette/carving thing doesn't work so well with them though, you'd do better with real ones for that.

If you haven't picked a first dance, tango a la Gomez and Morticia.

See if your Maitre'd will dress like Lurch. Or Riff Raff.

Instead of bells, look for little plastic skeletons that rattle.

Look for jewelry here.

Man I am soooo making him renew our vows on Halloween 10 years from now.

thanks for all the helpful hints.... we are definitely taking advantage of the fact that we left a lot of details till now and trying to put a halloweeny spin on them.

I love your idea of using small pumpkins as placecards. Maybe you could also put small bowls of candy corn on each table.
