Hi Lee. I have never been to Chateau Le Mer or John Anthony's. I just wanted to tell you to check out Timber Point CC in Great River. It is beautiful. I am having my reception there in October. Check out the website www.lessings.com. Good Luck!!!

My best friend is getting married at John Anthony's in 4 weeks. I went with her to a bridal expo hosted by John Anthony's and it was wonderful. They did a taste testing of the food, which was magnificant. The view of the water is great. Good Luck on your search!

good luck and keep us posted !!!

Good luck and let us know how you did.

John Anthony's on the Water

It's $80 pp April through October, $70 otherwise for a 5 hour Sat night affair. (It's +$7 pp for an additional hour.) Includes cocktail hour, cake and dessert, vallet parking, bridal suite, etc. There's also a 17% gratuity and a $300-500 maitre 'd tip in the contract, which is normal from what I hear from other brides & grooms on this board.

John Anthony's on the Water

Do you have to guarantee a certain number of guests?

Just a tip...

They have two rooms. Our room has a room max of 240, and we had to guarentee 150 min. I think the other room upstairs is a bit bigger.

If you're looking at places on the water, you should try Land's End in Sayville...I'm booked there for May.

People choose places for different reasons. You should keep that in mind when posting comments like that. I hope your hall is EVERYTHING you want because the Metropolitan is EVERYTHING I want.

I went to look at Chateau Le Mer and they said that the room was set up for 175. As we were leaving we asked the parking attendents how many guests were at the affair and they said 125. Fitting 175 in a hall that holds 125. Be careful!

For those of you who already had your bridal showers or attended another bride's...

Kristi, what did you think of the place besides the counting problem? LOL. Thanks.

After a couple of minutes she told us "Go through the racks and try on what you like. If you need help, let me know." Then proceeded to stand in the front of the store and ignore us. I continuously had to go find her to have her answer my questions. Now, why did I make an appointment for that???? I could have gone to a department store for that.
