Halo experience

Halo experience

Okay so my FH and I have been shopping around for videographers. This of course was an after thought because we originally weren't going to have one. But as time marches on I started to feel like, although pictures are great, a video shows more! And in 30 or 40 years from now, I want to be able to show my kids' kids what their grandma and grandpa looked like when they were young!!

We didn't want to spend too much, and the first few places we went to were just out of control in price! We just wanted to document the day, not be featured in a movie.

Last week we went to Bellarino and really loved their work, they were so professional and the videos we saw rocked! But we really didn't want to spend more than $1000, so we continued on our search.

Last night we went to Halo. They weren't for us. The video work that they showed wasn't what we were looking for and we didn't like the fact that you didn't know which of the 9 videographers you would be getting. We decided it was worth it to pay a little bit more. We are going with Bellarino!

ITA: in an effort to keep the peace this post has been edited to reflect same!! xoxo

Re: Halo no bueno

I used halo and didn't have the best experience but overall I'm just glad we got everything on video. I just wanted to let you know you might offend people who did/are using halo by what you're saying in your post.

eta: I'm not saying people shouldn't post their opinions I was referring to the way something was worded that has caused drama on these boards in the past and the OP edited it out anyway.

Glad you found someone you liked! I personally feel that people should be able to express their opinions. If this couple felt that the work they were shown had a shaky camera, they are entitled to say so. Those who chose Halo did so because they were obviously happy and comfortable with their work.

ETA: The title of the post may offend people, and I would change it, OP.

ITA with the above posts.
I am using Skidmark productions...I didnt want to spend a ton of $$ and I trusted who he cams recommended by. I also did not want a movie type look for the wedding. Something real and personable. I would have had someone I know do it if it wasnt for them missing the wedding!
Everyone makes choices for a reason.

I agree people should be able to express their opinions, that's not what I said in my post. When people start posting 'you get what you pay for' it always brings some type of drama to the boards. That's all.

True...I kind of breezed past that part, I guess that's why the OP took that line out! xox

Glad you were able to find someone you liked!!! I would say that these boards are a place where people should be able to share their experiences. Those who may be offended should just read the experience and remember them....that's what posting is all about here!

ugg, see-i would rather hear things like the fact that you saw shaky camera work-i think hearing experiences like that is so much more helpful than all the 'I LOVE THEM'..because it gives specific areas that you can talk to them about..

It is so nice to hear an honest opinion on the boards... it will help out many prospective clients.

It's so funny, I've responded to posts in the past, a sentence here, a sentence there...but this was my first actual review of something! lol

(Thanks for being supportive about the honesty thing, I truly didn't mean to offend anyone, I guess my fingers were typing faster than my head! lol)

Re: Halo experience

We're booked with them. The video we were shown didnt have the shaky camera element to it... We specifically asked to see a video from our hall and we were very pleased with the product and the great lengths he went to to dig out one from our hall... Yes, it is very basic video and editing... But perfect if video is more on your list of 'let me get this bc i would like to show my children' instead of 'i need this bc i plan on watching it every other day'

Exactly..everyone is looking for something different. We personally want something simple as far as video..not a full length feature film..lol..so we were able to go w/ a videographer that was more affordable for us.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Let's hope this is an isolated incident and it has been corrected. You got me worried because I am booked with them.
