Help!!! I'm not sure what to do. We are trying to book a place by the end of the month and I just feel the stress building and building! So far, we like hamlet willow creek the best, but we have some concerns....
We are looking to have the cermony at the reception hall, but when we visted willow creek, they didn't seem too thrilled of the idea about us having the ceremony there. We were given the impression that we would have to rent an arch and pillars ourselves...
Anyone out there having a ceremony at willow creek? Do you think there is apprehension about holding a ceremonies there since the place isn't finished yet?

My Fiance deals with catering halls all the time. (He is a videographer) we went there with check in hand to book, and we were turned off by their personalities. They were not accomodating, and we felt the same vibe about the ceremony on site. It's really not set up for an on site ceremony. We shopped around for prices and thought we were getting a good deal as far as pre-opening pricing and since we've been there, it turns out their pricing really wasn't that much better. It is a beautiful place, but don't forget you shouldn't compromise or let other people (espiecially a catering hall) tell you what you should want or like. That is exactly what happened. She tried to tell me what would work better for my wedding and guests! I don't mind suggestions, but this individual in particular was very pushy and we got the impression it was her way or no way. Did you try the Hamlet in Hauppauge? The place might not be your taste but, Denise the BM is really nice and I think they set up the hall for the ceremony. You should check it out. I thought of Hamet Willow creek also but, I was scared because they haven't really opened yet.

I booked with Hamlet Willow Creek and Barbara has been nothing but wonderful. She is so helpful and friendly. There are alot of girls on here that have booked with them. I am not having my ceremony there so I am not sure about that subject, but I am very happy with their service so far.

I also booked with the Hamlet Willow Creek. Barbara was great, she met with my parents first and I did a good amount of phone conversations before I actually met her. I kept holding and changing dates and she was nothing but accommodating. I am not having the ceremony there so I am not sure how they handle that, but I believe it is a section in the contract.

It looks like it is going to beautiful. I think it is really important, though, to feel comfortable with the people you will be dealing with. We were going to book there, held a date, and they gave it away b/c someone came in with 'check in hand.' At the time that infuriated me---I thought it was really unprofessional that they didn't even have a conversation with us first. This all happened within 24 hours (we held the date on Saturday, by the time we got home Sunday, there was a message they gave it away).
BUT, this is only one person's experience. You will find one person who has had a bad (or great) experience no matter where you look.
Just go with what you feel most comfortable and good about in your gut!!!!

Thanks girls!! I actually liked Barbara a lot, and she made me feel really comfortable...it is just that ceremony thing that is nagging at me...I've never heard of having to rent my own arch and pillars for a ceremony at the reception hall....I'm thinking of going in with the parents to show them and maybe asking her more questions about the ceremony options...
