Strongly considering Hamlet Willow Creek, whose brides seem to leave very happy. However, nobody we know has ever attended a function there or eaten the food, and we're total foodies so it has to be good! Also, just doing cold platter and passed h'or d'oeuvres so THEY have to be good. Any feedback? Be honest! TIA

We have our annual golf outting there. The grounds are beautiful. The food is good, it's not amazing, but it's definitely good.

I went to a wedding there.. and i am just being honest.. I wasnt wow'ed by it. The food was good but it wasn't amazing. I thought the cocktail area was very small and not enough food. But it also depeneds on how many people you are having. The wedding I went to was large and very crowded.

Hmmm...that stinks, but it's honest and I love it and that's what I want. In your opinion was it up to par with others? Thanks! Keep 'em comin!

Re: Hamlet WIllow Creek food
Past HWC bride here! How many people are you planning on having? I would agree that for a large group it may be too small. We had about 175 people at our wedding and I felt there was a ton of food and everyone kept telling me how delicious everything was. See if Barbara will let you do a tasting before you book, they don't normally, but when we were looking at halls I told her food was a big part of our decision and that we would really like to do a tasting before booking anything. She accomodated us and let us come on a day that they were doing a tasting for brides getting married there in the next month or two so they just made extra for us.

Re: Hamlet WIllow Creek food
I'm a HWC Bride to be and before we booked we asked for a tasting because I never knew anyone that had ever been to a wedding there. Talk to Barbara I am sure she will set up a tasting. . . . . The food at our tasting was soooooo good (that why we booked)- it did not taste like 'wedding food' at all.

We hope to have no more than 140, so if you were fine w/ 175 I'm sure we'd be good at 140. Barbara did say that she might be able to lump is in with some others for a tasting. Good to know I'm not the only girl who requested this! The food quality is just a really big factor for us.

Yeah, you'll be fine with that many people. Definitely go to a tasting....we ended up taking home leftovers! If they have the portobello, tomato, mozzarella tower to try TRY IT, it is soooooo good!!! Actually I could go for that right about now!

Re: Hamlet WIllow Creek food
Oh boy, I've done that post-wedding food run and it isn't a good thing. Honestly though, aside from a spotless reputation (and how many places have that?) is there really any way to be sure of cooking quality? Of course the tastings are always good, but what you get that day is what you get. My mom disagrees. I just don't see it as something that can be guaranteed. And yes, I did have momentary reservations about the CH setup, but if there exists a perfect place, I haven't found it, lol! Anyway, in my mind, any feedback is good feedback so thank you and keep it coming!

Ok, I have to say something about the CH location because I keep seeing posts from people who attended a wedding at HWC at didn't like the location of the CH....You have to keep in mind that this is a country club, a small country club, there really is no way around having it in the lobby area. I'd rather that then having another wedding(s) going on the same time as mine.

That's the conclusion I came to w/ the CH setup. After really thinking about it I decided it didn't bother me. And I loved everything else about it so much. There's a place for everybody!

ITA with this! We wanted a one wedding at a time place!
The CH is only an hour of the wedding!!!! Ballroom is so beautiful and that's where your guests are for most of the reception!!! Also, for my summer wedding the CH is half outside with a BEAUTIFUL view!
