Hamptons wedding?

Has anybody looked into renting a Hampton's home for the week or weekend for their wedding???

My fiance and I are really interested in this idea. (We think it would be nice to have our bridal party spend the weekend with us in the home to celebrate after the wedding.)

Re: Hamptons wedding?

I'm doing that! We rented a home in Southampton and my family and FH's family are all staying there (there are 9 bedrooms, we both have 2 brothers, our parents and my maid of honor). The rental starts on Wednesday and goes through Sunday and on that Saturday we're going to have the wedding in the garden and the party at the house. I'm really excited. Have you booked your wedding yet? Are you looking to have the wedding at the house or just stay there?

Re: Hamptons wedding?

We're interested in having our wedding there.

How did you go about finding the house?

(I noticed you're getting married in Sept. 2002. We'd like to get married on Sept. 20th or 27th in 2003. )

Re: Hamptons wedding?

I'm a Sag Harbor wedding, but I'm fortunate enough to be using my parent's house. Have you check out any of the local publications out east? I'm sure they list houses available to rent for weddings.

Re: Hamptons wedding?

Hey Jenny -
I found the house through my fiance's coworker. I'm getting married on Sept. 21 of this year - I love September! I can recommend all my vendors to you, the only recommendation I can't make is for the house I'm getting married in. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the house we chose, it's just that the person who owns it is.... well I wouldn't recommend her. But you can look on cyberrentals.com for Hamptons houses. Also, if you call my caterer, Troy Conrad of Hamptons Clambakes (he's the best and most reasonable) he can recommend you to a woman who charges around $500 flat fee to show you around to different places you can rent for the week. (Troy's number is 631-324-8620). Let me know if you have any more questions. I'm happy to help! This kind of wedding is more work than the traditional catering hall... but hopefully well worth it!

Re: Hamptons wedding?

Hey TracyAnn!
Thanks for the info & recommendations! My fiance just called one of the homes on cyberrentals and we'll probably give Troy a call either this weekend or some time next week.

I hate to be rude, but approx. how much are you paying for the site fee (house rental)? I know it can vary with each home, but my fiance and I are trying to get ballpark figures. (We saw one that was available for $4g's a week during September.)

Thanks again for your input! We're really interested in doing this! It would be so much fun for us and our guests!

Actually one of our friends is doing a clambake up in Newport, RI this Sept. so hopefully we'll be able to get some ideas while we're up there as well!

Re: Hamptons wedding?

If you can get a house for $4k that's great. We're paying $10k for the week. I think that's pretty average. But definitely look around and see what you can find. Troy is a great caterer, we're having filet mignon and lobster tail dinners! He's also really nice and very friendly. Let me know how your progress goes and if you want anymore recommendations, ask away...
