Hand Cancelled

So I am doing DIY invites. Probably using a kit from Michaels. It says online in the description:

This item should be hand cancelled at the post office

what does that mean??

Meaning you can't just drop them off in a mailbox.

you have to go to the post office and personally hand it to them

Depending on the size and weight, they may actually need additional postage too....you wouldn't want to throw them in the mailbox and they all get returned for insufficient postage!! It just keeps mistakes from happening....plus, you get to make a big fat announcement at the post office that you are getting married in the very near future haha
