Hand Cancelled Invites

I know that it's free to get your invites 'hand cancelled' but are you suppose to give the Post Office a tip? If so, how much?

Thank you.

nope. we didn't leave one. we told them we needed them hand cancelled, and they just took the box and we were on our way. i don't think the post office can accpet tips anyway.

what does hand canceled mean?

Re: Hand Cancelled Invites

Hand cancelled means (correct me if I'm wrong) that the Post Office actually 'hand stamps' the envelopes to be delivered. They don't put them through the machine. I guess you are chancing your invites getting messed up if they are put through the machine.

Am I right?

i heard they have to go through one machine instead of two. the first machine they go through is the cancelling machine then the sorting one.
