Hand Cancelling-What, where, how and when?

Please help! I don't want my invites run through a machine and I don't know how to go about doing this.

Never mind...I called the post office and they said they'd do it for me.

I was reading through some old posts re: this frantically....now I know what it is and how to do it.

take them to the post office and ask if you can hand cancel them. they will give you a little stamper to stamp the invitations.
