I just mailed my invites and put the stamp on and dropped them in the mailbox. I was just told that it is proper to hand-cancel the envelopes to eliminate the smear that will be caused by the post office black stamp. Did I commit a major error by not hand-cancelling the envelopes?
Don't worry - what is done is done. It's not a big deal at all and your invites will be fine. What size are they?
No big deal, it has to have the zip code barcode printed on it anyway. My dad is a mailman and he said there is no need to hand cancel them because they are going to go through a bunch of different sorting machines on their way across country.
