HandsCeremony explained

O.k. I wanted to know what this was and did a search and when I read this I CRIED!!

OMG I Can just picture it now. Im going to post it for others who dont know..

Thank you Melissa and Sean - I got this from one of your posts:

Melissa and Sean, please face each other and take each other’s hands, so you may see the gift that they are to you.

These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and vibrant with love, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise your love and commitment to each other all the days of your life.

These are the hands that will work along side yours, as together you build your future, as you laugh and cry, as you share your innermost secrets and dreams.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, for a lifetime of happiness.

These are the hands that will lift your chin and brush your cheek as they raise your face to look into the eyes that are filled with overwhelming love and desire for you.

These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.

These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving.

These are the hands that will give you support and encouragement to chase down your dreams.
Because together, as a team, everything you wish for can be realized.

God bless these hands that you see before you this day. May they always be held by one another.
Give them the strength to hold on during storms of stress and the dark of disillusionment.

Keep them tender and gentle as they nurture each other in their love. Help these hands to continue building a relationship founded in your grace, rich in caring, and devoted to their love.

May Sean and Melissa see their four hands as healer, protector, shelter and guide.

We ask this in your name, Amen.

Oh my gosh, I know. We did this at a Mass during our Pre Cana weekend, and I cried like a baby!!! But FH and I REALLY want to do it at our wedding instead of the Unity Candle. I'll be asking our priest at our next meeting if we can.

I'm going to be an emotional disaster!!!!!!!!

We had this during our ceremony which we did not know we were going to have because I had admired this from prior bries posting this.

It was funny to watch almost a year later because they forgot to add:

These are the hands that will be picking up clothing and not your own...

these are the hands that will be doing dishes...

these are the hands that will be making the bed...

We are doing the hand ceremony but we rewrote it and consolidated it so we will be looking at each other's hands at the same time. We rewrote it to more adequately reflect our personalities and lifestyle.

The minister said he's not sure if he'll get through it w/o crying.
