Has anyone used any of the Hank Lane bands? Which one did you use, and were they great?

from what i have heard, bait and switch is a common practice. you book one band, a different band is scheuled for your wedding. be careful and make sure to get EVERYTHING in writing. also, be advised that they do NOT have showcases.

you can't listen to them before you book (or after for tht matter) You get to listen to a CD of work they have done but it isn't necessarily who will play at your wedding from what other brides have said. I have heard mixed things. I know they are very good sales people and I know some of their bands do sound really good. they have lots of bands so if you hear one that isn't for you - it doesn't mean another won't work
However, since you don't know the names of the people who will play at your wedding - you don't know if they will be as good as they sound on the CD either. Too much left up in the air for me.

They have great bands that do have wonderful reputations. However, we chose not to go with them because they don't have live showcases or videos...just CD's and you never know who is really showing up on the big day. Was just kind of weird.
My FMIL had one of their bands at her September wedding (2nd marriage)...and they were great.
