Happy day and not happy day! LOOOONG
Happy Day - Booked my hall!!! Vanderbilt Mansion 10-05-07.
Not happy day - drama with my mom again!!! i told my parents to meet me at my apartment at 1230 for a tasting at vanderbilt (i live in queens, parents live in nj over gwb). my parent's are very punctual. i had to go pick up my bridesmaid in bronx who was also coming to the tasting (which my mom gave me an attitude when she found out someone other than she alone was gonna be there). anyway, had to lie to mom about going to p/up bm b/c mom has to be center of attn all the time.
so, mom gets here and at 1232 calls my cell phone - i was in RIDICULOUS traffic (what is normally a 30 minute round-trip to p/up my friend in bronx turned into 2 hour round-trip) - asking when i would get home. fh was at home, so i figured that mom was annoyed that i wasn't home and she and dad had to be in the apt alone with fh. i get home about 20 mins later (i had said 15 mins) and parents are sitting in the lobby. i was wondering why they weren't in the apartment.
mom starts yelling at me (mind u - i'm closing in on 30 years old) saying that it's ridiculous that i told her to be there at 1230 and yelling at bm saying why didn't bm leave her apartment earlier. making a huge scene in the LOBBY!!! i tried to stay calm, which is near impossible with my mom.
i told her that if she would like to go to the tasting then she needs to calm down and if not, then she might want to consider if she wants to go at all. of course she threw it back on me and said to tell her if i want her to go. i said it was her decision, then dad says that they are leaving. and they left. that was it.
so i'm standing there after making a huge scene wondering what the heck just happened. went to the tasting anyway w/o parents.
btw - fh went to get the car in the parking lot to speed up process for when i got back home so that we can quickly get on the road to the tasting, which is why he was not in the apartment in the one minute they were up here. fh and parents must have literally missed eachother by one minute.
i looked at the phone when i got home and she called only once at 1231, called my cell only once and didn't bother to mention that they had called the house and rung the doorbell - so there was no way of me to even know that they were not in the apartment.
