FH's name isn't Joseph but he can afford to grow a couple of inches so I'll pull on his ears anyway

St Joseph's is a very important holiday for italians - similar to St Patrick's day for Irish people!

St Joseph is the patron saint of Italy
This day is celebrated as a kind of father's day, it is a 'name day' for anyone with Joseph in their name ( middle names count too! and female variations)

you eat pasta di San Giuseppe which is pasta with breadcrumbs (Pasta Milanese - with anchovies)

recipe
it is a fish dish bc St Joseph's falls in Lent!

if you are buying a house - another little tidbit:
• Burying a statue of St. Joseph in your yard on March 19th is said to help in selling your home and finding a new one. There are even special kits that are marketed for this, although most would say that a prayer would do just as well!

AND If it is nice on St. Joseph's Day, it will usually be a good year...

but THIS is what i look forward to the most - the zeppole!!!
