I always loooved the sound of a harp during a wedding. I originally wanted to have it during the ceremony, but sure enough the pipe organ that they have at the church sounds absolutly beautiful. So, I was thinking of having a harp during CH... Do you think it will be heard and appreciated during that time with approx. 175 people?? Honest opinons though.. Thanks so much!

my sister had a harp for her CH and i don't think i ever really 'heard' it. i was also talking and chatting up with all of our family and running around so i think that's just me.

That's the same thing I was thinking...and spending $350 on something that not even will hear or notice... just boggles me.
Do you think there's anywhere else I can add in the harp?? Maybe I can have her at the church still, but just play like only when I come down or something....

My sister had a harp and you could only really hear it when you were near her and she had only 125.

My cousin had a harp during their cocktail hour and there was only like around 90 people and i didn't even realize there was a harp until i went to get food. Then i saw the harpist.

Yea I personally like the harp but not for cocktail hour. I think it wont be heard and that cocktail hour should be more upbeat anyway..like getting everyone ready to go party! JMO!

I doubt people will hear it but it would be a beautiful touch. Would it be a waste to have the harp player where you pick up your placecards?

i'm having my harpist play at the ceremony only and she will be playing when guest arrive, when I walk down the aisle, during bible versus, lighting up the candle, and much more. People will definitely hear it because it will be quiet.
