Re: harpist???
Janet King wants $500. I met one woman who only charges $400 but I can't find her card, this was a few yrs ago. It doesn't hurt to contact music schools and see if anyone has any talented harpest out there.

I'm using Janet King. She is charging me $800 for ceremony and cocktail hour. I met her several times at a bridal showcase at the Uniondale Marriott. I felt very comfortable with her. I called for references and everyone raved about her.
I think the bridal showcase is Uniondale is held every month. If you call her, she will let you know if she will be there.

Juillard sometimes has students that are available. I would imagine that they are cheaper than 'professionals'.

I would call up several colleges. Someone told me about a little girl, about 12 who plays the harp very well. She's been doing it since she was 5. She does concerts for her school. So its not easy to find a harpist but if you put the time in call up music colleges and you may have to look online, you could find one. I found a woman at the Renaissance Faire but I don't know how to get in touch with her. She agreed to do my wedding, but she wanted she wanted to wait until this year to work everything out. I'll be seeing her in August. I didn't realise Ms. King upped her prices like that.

Re: harpist???
OMG I totally forgot. A. Stan Wiest Music has a harpist and I think they are cheaper than Janet. I found them here on LIweddings, the only reason I didn't want them because I asked if the harpist could wear a medieval dress that I would provide, but they were completely agaist it. But their really nice and will loan you a CD with their music.
