I am trying to decide which my guests would like better at the cocktail hour...a harpist or a pianist? So if you were coming to my wedding which would you rather hear or like better? Thoughts or opinions are highly appreciated. I am personally leaning toward the harpist.

Re: Harpist or Pianist?
i think a harp is really nice and great for a ceremony but IMO - will definitly get drowned out during a ch hour. they arent that loud and people are always busy talking and moving around... i dont think it will be heard as well as a piano - jmo though

I am having a harpist for the ceremony and cocktail hour! I vote harpist only because i am having one and I like it. Go and listen to both and then decide! Both are equally as nice!

Good point...I never thought of that. Also the pianist is $100 less.

I voted for harpist because I think that is something different.

I like them both, but if its cheaper to have the pianist then I would go with that

I think harpist would get drowned out too. i knew I wanted to have live music during our CH but i wasnt sure what, then I decided piano since our hall has a beautiful baby grand and I thought it would look wierd if we didnt use it and had another instrument brought in.

We are having a harpist at our CH as well. I just think it's so elegant and so different.

FH and I had a Harpist at our E-party. Our guests gave us lots of compliments for having her there. It really gave a romantic feel to the party.

I think a pianist would be better for the cocktail hr. My sis had a harpist and she was drowned out by all the noise. JMO
