Harrison Conference, Louis XVI, San Souci concerns....

Hi We just visited the above locations and had some concerns/questions perhaps someone could shed some light on... (Are wedding will be about 125 people) 1)Harrison: My group is too small for a night wedding, has anyone experience the day time reception? 2) Louis XVI: Concern about lack of food stations during cocktail hour. Because it`s only butler style service did your guests feel they received enough to eat? Were the waiters constantly serving? Did the room seem tight? 3) San Souci: Question re: room divider? Did the room divider look ugly and odd? How smooth was the transition from an indoor cocktail hour to the main dinner? Regards, A Planning Bride

Harrison Conference, Louis XVI, San Souci concerns....

I know Gail (a good friend) who is the coordinator at Harrison. She might have been the one you met with. Harrison does a BEAUTIFUL job anytime. I would have gone there but the price is way out of our range (yes even with Gail lowering it for us!). My FI really wanted to be there. Actually my mother used to work there too so I know it is a quality place. San Souci stay away from. I have heard MANY complaints about. Some of the food, some of the smell from the water with the plant down the block (lipa or whatever it is) and other stuff like service. We had gone there before I heard about them and they broke 3 (yes 3) appointments with us! 2 times they forgot and left for the night and once called to reschedule. Needless to say we never went back. Louis I dont know about but the Harrison is wonderful. I wish I had the money, I would have gone there in a heartbeat. Plus you and your guests can uses the facilities like the pool, tennis courts, etc. Since its a hotel, out of town guests can stay there too. Good luck! Hope this helps.

Louis XVI,

my reception will be there in august. i'm not concerned with cocktail hour- it is the #1 french resurant on LI (Zagets guide). i rather save my appetite for the main course. They have been great to work with so far.

Harrison Conference, Louis XVI, San Souci concerns....

I had my wedding at the Harrison House which was beautiful. I had it on a Saturday afternoon. The honeymoon suite is included in the package, which is very nice. I also checked out San Souci and Louis XVI, coincidentally. San Souci seemed a little tight and I had an appointment in some little tiny office during the time when people were arriving for a wedding. The manager was showing us the rooms and everyone was getting ready for the cermony. It was a little awkward to be barging into someone`s wedding like that. I felt really bad and I certainly wouldn`t want it to be done on my day. As far as Louis XVI, it looked a little run down outside. This was during the winter months and we were looking for that summer, so I would be nervous even if they said it was being fixed up. Also I didn`t like the fact that a little run down clam bar was next door. Doesn`t look to elegant.

San Souci concerns....

For what it is worth, my fi and I visited Sans Souci a couple of weeks ago and met with Carol. We thought she was great, and I have heard wonderful things about the food. We're still looking around...just wanted to let you know
