I went last may with Fh to his grandmothers. They live in Gravina which is about 15 min from Bari. It was wonderful and I cna't wait to go back this november with his sister to bring his grandmother here for the wedding. We went to rome for a few days. We took the train and it was pretty easy. the ride was about 5 hrs. And we walked all around rome. Rome was very nice. Alot to do in one day. You will have a great time. Anything else you wanna know Let me know. FH grew up there so he knows alot.

yeah you can take the train to anywhere. It's very easy. Just make sure you pay attention and know a few words in italian. Thank god FH know italian or else we would have been clueless. but everyone in rome spoke english so you won't have a problem.

I absolutely love the Amalfi coast. I took the train from Venice there. It's so quaint and beautiful.

I've been to Rome, Florence, Sienna, Pisa and Venice... wasn't too keen on Florence or Rome but that may be because I was more into partying than culture when I went (6 yrs ago)...but I do remember liking Sienna and Pisa for day trips.

Venice is another story though... I loooooved it. I honestly think its one of the most romantic cities in the world. FH and I went in the middle of high seasona nd I thought it would be over crowded and I heard its smelly and dirty, so I wasn't expecting much. The main square and sights were alittle crowded, but as soon as you leave those areas and 'get lost' in the maze of allies and canals, you'll be all alone...and if hats not romantic, I dunno what is! O and they have REALLY good ice cream

I would highly recommend Italy. I've been there a few times as a tourist and I've always loved it. There are so many places to go and there is so much history. Florence was amazing b/c the entire city is literally art - incredible. Venice is really pretty, but in the summer it smells really bad. Rome is tons of fun - lots to do during the day and at night. Pisa is good for a day-trip, like someone else said.

The best part about Italy was the FOOD!! Delicious food almost everywhere, even in holes in the wall - which I've eaten in several times. lol. Also, everyone seems to be in a good mood in general. Different from France.

Yes, Italy was on our stop for our HM cruise- We did the meditteranean and then stayed in Rome after for two days...
we were able to see Naples, Capri, Sorrento, and Rome. I loved it and want to go back and see the many other places to see in Italy.

My good friend did a Italian for her HM and loved it.. and went up the coast

My bil studied in florence for a semester and loved it there as well
