I get seasick very easily, so definitely not! I even got sick last year when FH and I went on a cruise.

Re: Has anybody...
I'll answer you.. yes I have thought about it because I am looking for a place with the view of Manhattan either on the NJ side or NY. Issues I have is I have heard of people getting sea sick especially since there will be alcohol. Other thing is that there is no were for people to walk away from the party if they want, you know ? they are sort of stranded there for 5 hours. I guess there are always balcony's though if you need a little air or to step away to chat with someone or something.

That would be me! I think a wedding on a boat is my worst nightmare.

I thought about it....I know a lot boats leave from the marina by Shea, and that would be SO much closer than going to LI - but my family is notorious for being fashionably late. I would hate to have a half full boat because my uncles were late...again.

Re: Has anybody...
I am huge water/ocean person and i think a yacht would be beautiful...BUT being sea sick really could be detrimental...
for my commencement ball for college,a formal affair , we had it on a yacht-beautiful...but the waves were huge and people were very very sick... the yacht was going back and forth and one of the windows broke on it ...needless to say it was a memorable night- but not so much for the good... i could never have my wedding on a yacht because i would be too scared...

I wanted to do it b/c I absolutely love the water and the whole outdoor setting. Unfortunately, it's a risk that your guests might not be so 'sea-worthy.'

Re: Has anybody...
My boss at work just had her wedding on a yacht in September. Her and her husband met on a cruise so they thought it was a really cool idea to get married on a boat. No one got seasick and they said the view was awesome...they drove past the manhattan skyline and the statue of liberty. The boat left out of Flushing Meadows Park. Nobody complained that they wanted to leave earlier.

My family is Puerto Rican we are known for being late. lol
I just like your opinions on everything and wanted to know how it sounded but sea sick is a big factor.

I think it is a wonderful idea- but we didn't do it for 2 reasons: 1: 2:we have several older guests and my dad has a limp and 2 guests in wheelchairs- not too convenient for them!

Re: Has anybody...
my concern would be seasick passengers - also adding alcohol into the mix makes me more concerned about passengers not feeling well - another concern was if people had to leave early to travel before traffic or whatever it would be impossible and so they just wouldnt go at all.
It sounds beuatiful though!!!
