My fiance and I are going between two venues and though I have seen many reviews on one I haven't seen any on the Sea Star. If you have been there I would greatly appreciate your help.

I think that the Sea Star Ball room is brand new, might have opened in Sept. 2011, but I could be totally wrong. I wanted to look there, but they opened to late for when we wanted to get married!! Sorry I wasn't any help!

Friends of mine just got married there in November. It was very nice. The room is very big with two decent sized bars on each side. Theres also a cute, decent sized balcony connected to the room for people who need some fresh air. The cocktail hour was both downstairs when you first walk in as well as upstairs just outside the ballroom. The nice part is that it is all connected to the new Hyatt hotel, which is VERY nice for any of your out of town guests. Their wedding was buffet style, and the food wasn't bad. I think a sit down dinner would have been nicer due to the fact that there were about 300 guests and the line got kinda long for the buffet. All in all it was a very nice wedding and I think it would be worth it to go check it out.

Typically for larger weddings, they do buffet rather than sit-down. It's usually very difficult for a kitchen to accomodate 300 meals being served at once. And for 30 tables, you'd need a much large wait staff.

Really what they should have done was have more than 1 buffet line.
