Has anybody had this happen to them?

(A) someone invited people without telling you?

(B) someone invited kids when it was briefly mentioned that you didn't want any?

And if any of the above happened, how did you handle it?

My mom went a step further..... she told the mother of two girls (ages 9 and 11) that I was considering having them as flower girls. First off, I wasn't, Second, they would be more jr. bridesmaid at that age. I want to keep my bridal party as small as I can, and I wanted 1 flower girl, around 3 or 4 years old to go with my 1 ring bearer who will be 3 at the time of the wedding.

I had never discussed these things with my mom so you can imagine how I upset I was when she told me this. I told her to explain to the mother of the girls that she spoke too quickly and I was still deciding on what to do. I still haven't made a decision, but I feel so bad that this happened.

yuck - yeah it stinks when people assume stuff it can put you in a difficult situation

my mom constantly talks to my cousin and brother about how cute their kids are going to be in the wedding - when she knows VERY well they arent going to be in it. . . since we fight about it all the live long day!

ETA: make sure you take care of it ASAP and as politely as possible. . . the sooner the better and the less chance of hurt feeligns!
