Wow I can't believe you have so much done for a wedding that is more than year away? Why did you not wait until a year or less before you started planning? My FMIL and FMSL actually said that to me.
We only have the Hall, DJ and Florist booked. I don't get it!

I've had it said to me but then I have to tell them it's for 2007 memorial day weekend.(I wanted to keep the date since it's the day my parents married on) I haven't booked but I am looking around.

we've had people say that to us. we booked the hall, church, photo/video and limos. our answer was that we wanted to know how much it would all cost, so we had more time to save the $$ for everything. just tell the fil's that you are going at your own pace and you really can't wait too long because then the date you wanted could be booked. or just ignore them, thats what i do....

Actually I have had the OPPOSITE problem, people keep telling me to get more stuff done! Do this do that, get it done now so you don't have to worry about it later. And I say, the only time I get to see FH is on weekends and I don't want to spend EVERY weekend doing wedding stuff!

When people say that to me they quickly change their tune when I expalin to them that I've managed to secure 2004 prices for 2006 by booking early.

It kinda pisses me off when ppl ask me why I'm waiting so long. When they say that I say 'Would you like to pay for my wedding? I'll be glad to move the date up 4 ya'

LoL Kimmy....I have heard 'Oh, you have plenty of time' a million times...I feel like saying 'Oh yeah then why was my ceremony time not available, if I have so much freakin time!!!!' Phew had to get that out.

and in all honesty...what the heck is the big deal that you went and started to plan your wedding???It is not written in stone that you need to start no sooner than such and such a date...
Have fun and buy yourself some earplugs to block the noise from the commentors

I will and everytime I walk into her house I will pull out my earplugs and put them on infront of them! Do you think they will get the hint
