Wow, I'm definitely not looking forward to those calls! Personally, I would just ignore and not return the message. But if I did happen to pick up one of those calls, I'd be honest and just mention that we went with someone else and leave it at that. I'm really amazed that vendors actually do these phone calls!

I got that with the halls. I simply stated that I decided to go with someone else and I thanked them for following up. I only called a couple of people back that I really liked.

Hmmmm....Well, think about it this way. If you were waiting to hear from a vendor and you left a message and they didn't call back, you definitely would be annoyed. So, they probably feel the same way. I know it's not exactly the same thing. I had the same thing happen with a hall that my FI and I looked at. The guy called twice and i felt bad calling back to say we booked someone else, so, I made my FI do it! He just told him sorry, we went with a different place. And that was it. You feel awkward at the time, but after you say it, you'll never speak to the person again, ya know?

Maybe they will not call more than once....some vendors might truly be checking on if you've made up your mind. They hope you'll be on the fence and maybe they can help you decide on them.

I'd call them back. Its like a job interview not calling to tell you that you didn't get it, and just making you assume it. Most vendors are probably looking for honest feedback, ie was it their customer service, prices, personalities, etc.
