Garden City Hotel? We are leaving for our honeymoon the day after our wedding and will be flying from JFK, FI did not want to stay at an aiport hotel. Has anyone stayed here? How far do you think it is to the airport?

It's a really nice hotel. The rooms are beautiful. Room service is incredibly expensive, but it's worth a splurge to experience the entire package if you're planning on staying the night anyway.
It's probably under 45 minutes to JFK.

I haven't stayed there, but my sister/BIL and other friends have on their wedding nights. I've always heard good things about the hotel-except that it's kind of expensive. I believe their wedding night package is about $ 500 (which includes goodies like champagne, rose petals, etc.). If you don't want any of those extras, a regular room is much less.
It's about 20-30 minutes from there to JFK on a good day. Just let the car service know what time your flight is and see if they can suggest a pick up time. I've never driven the Belt Pkwy without traffic!!!

I've stayed there it takes about 45-50 minutes to JFK. The hotel is beautiful.

I have never stayed there before, but will be staying there the night of our wedding March 22, 2003 I would say its like 30 minutes from JFK the hotel is beautiful and they just renovated it

Very classy hotel. Very nicely renovated and has a history in Garden City too although rooms are expensive. No, it is not very near JFK airport. Here's a link of hotels within the JFK airport area:
We are staying at the Garden City Hotel on our wedding night! I'd say its about 1/2 drive to JFK.

I'm also looking to book a room there for my wedding night as well. I heard it is pricey, but that's for all the extras like champagne and rose petal and stuff.

I live in Garden City and only 3 mins from the GC hotel. I would say it really LARGELY dependant on TIME of day, DAY of the week etc. We have a car service pick us up for all of our vacations. We usually take an early morning (about 6 or 7 am flight so we leave very early in the morning. We always give ourselves 40 mins but realistically it never takes more than 20 mins at that time of the day to get to JFK on a fri or sat morning. IF you are going later in the day it can take up to one hour or more. I picked my FH up over thanksgiving and it took 1 hour and about 10 mins. If you are going later on a weekend morning remember you won't have rush hour traffic - but I would play it safe with 30-45 mins if it is after about 7 or 8 am
