yes

princess cruiseline

i think i must be the only person in the world that didn't really enjoy it - besides the excursion we took to a glacier, it was kind of boring

Heidla went on an Alaskan cruise recently. You might want to FM her.

DH and I went a few years ago on Holland America. That cruise line is known for an 'older clientele,' but we didn't care. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We added a land tour to the trip so that we could go to Denali National Park -- I highly recommend taking some time to see Denali. Amazing wildlife!

I took Celebrity to Alaska and loved it!!! I think the ship was called Infinity. The sights were amazing and they offer some great excursions. I went white water rafting past glaciers and took a helicopter ride over fiords. It was some of the most amazing scenery I have ever seen.

I went to Alaska this past August. We went on Norwegian Cruise line and the ship was the Spirit. It was a great experience!!!! We enjoyed the relaxed vibe on the ship and the staff was very nice and efficent.

I went to Alaska back in 1997 on RCL. The thing that I enjoyed a little more about that trip was the iteniary. We went to Glacier Bay. On the last trip(NCL) we went to Sawyer Glacier. Both are great, but glacier bay is just a little cooler.

As far as excursions, don't miss the whalewatching by jetboat. I suggest getting on the earliest jetboat. We saw at least 20 whales on our trip. It is not always that way, but the one we took promised that you would see a whale or you get $100 back. We really wanted to go dogsledding, but it is a lot of $$$$$. Instead we went to glacier point. We canoed within 100 yds. of Douglason glacier. It is a small glacier, but to get that close was amazing. I would also reccomend the rafting down the Chilcat river. It goes through a bald eagle preserve and is quite beautiful and relaxing.

Here are a couple of pictures from our last trip.

1. Our whalewatching trip
2. The 'misty fyords ' that you travel through to reach Sawyer Glacier.

3. Sawyer Glacier. Our ship got closer then any other ship had all season. August is an awsome time to go.

4. This is from our excursion to Glacier Point. That is what they call the 'blue cave' in Douglason Glacier.

ETA: Take binoculars!!!!
