WOW 20 min???? Are the stand up ones more powerful? I don't think I could stand more than 10. I'm fair though, so maybe you tan better than me?

I think if you use lotion you'll be less itchy..its that winter skin (you know how our skin gets dryer in the winter makes you itchy lol)

try aveeno lotion. i don't tan but sometimes in the summer I get itchy. i guess it is the oatmeal stuff in aveeno that helps.

how long have you been tanning? you shouldn't be tanning 20 mins . Thats why MOST tanning places will NOT allow you to ever do more than 12 mins under any circumstances, and even those who tan for years and on a regular basis.

Re: Has anyone been tanning?
I went tanning for two months before my wedding. The first couple of times I was extremely itchy. But after 2 weeks it stopped and then I actually started getting tan. But the longest ever went was for 12 minutes. I would think 20 minutes is too long though.

20 min is the max. I have been going here for like 5-6 sessions already. I go to Palm Beach tan on hempstead tpke levittown. They have stand up & lay down. I have not done the stand up one yet. I am kinda tan (for an irish gal) because I am outside everyday being a mail carrier. I have the farmer tan going ya know shorts mark & socks mark...looks funny when I wear flip flops. Although I don't really care. The main reason whY I am doing it because I have marks onmy back from my tank top which show in my dress (two tone bac) LOL otherwise I would not care. Atleast I won't burn on my honeymoon. I will be ready to go.
I will have to try the aveeno.

Def try some lotion! I've gone 6-8 times in the last month or so and haven't itched. I also used Palm Beach Tanning and bought lotion to put on right before I tan and it worked great!
The stand up is much stronger - I did the bed a few times and finally moved up to the stand up and the results were better for me! Good luck!!!

Re: Has anyone been tanning?
when i USED to go, ive gone in a regular bed for 20 mins - depending on what bed it is - the older, weaker beds you can def do 20 mins - is it an old bed? i know that the newer, more powerful beds 8 mins is like the max.....i think when i did stand up i used to do 8 or 12 mins - i cant remember - but im sure beds have changed since then, i havent gone in about 4 years probably....
i am going to use the beds at the gym a few times before my wedding - so i have a base tan for aruba - even though a base tan is still really bad for you - but i figure even with spf ill be getting sun damage in aruba anyway - my reasoning doesnt really make any sense medically but oh well, it sounds good - and at least ill better in my dress and bathing suits....ill probably start doing 6 or 8 mins and im really pale - i think the beds they have at the gym have a max of 15 mins - not sure though - they arent the greatest - they only have 1 type of bed and its lay down and its not one of the better beds...
but to answer your question - yes ive been itchy from the tanning salon - i know what you are talking about with being pink but not really burnt....im sure its just related to the damage you are doing to your skin i wish tanning didnt cause cancer and wrinkles ..... i love tanning im a former tanorexic hahahaha and now im casper!
