Has anyone been the the garden city hotel?

Has anyone been the the garden city hotel?

If so, are there any nice place's to take picture's inside? I tried their website but it didn't give me much.

I am trying to figure out a backup if it rains which the farmer's almanac says it is, so I figured maybe if I get a hotel room somewhere that has a nice inside scenery I can do my picture's there.

The huntington hilton has a pretty nice inside from the tour on their website but I need ideas.

We are getting married at the Garden City Hotel. The inside is very pretty. They have many beautiful sitting areas for pictures.

I would call and make sure it is ok for you to take pics. But I am sure you can just go in one afternoon and peek around beforehand.

You might want to call them though, we were told that unless you are getting married there, you can't take pictures in the loby or any public places.

We blocked rooms with them and Rob and I stayed in the Grand Suite for our wedding night - we had to sign something saying that since our wedding was NOT there that we could ONLY take photos in the suite and not in the rest of the hotel or on their grounds.

We loved it - DH got ready in the room (he got an early check in) and there was a bucket of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, and a chocolate basket filled with various berries when we got to the room after the wedding.

We had a grand suite (it had a large livingroom, dining room area with a separate bathroom, and a wet bar area. Then a separate bedroom with a king bed - couches, and a second full bathroom.) We had a good time - but didn't get to really spend as much time in the room as we would have like - DH says the GM LOVED our room. I wouldn't spend the $1,200 they ask for it - but because 1) we blocked rooms there, 2) got a discount for getting married at cherry valley and 3) dad booked so got a garden city resident discount as well it was VERY reasonable for us.

I went there today and they are booked on my day anyway but said I couldn't take pictures since I wasn't getting married there so I so forget that.

I went the huntington hilton and they were really nice and reasonably priced and they had some nice areas to take pictures and they said I could so I think I am going to go with that.

Thanks for the advise.

You might wanna be careful at the Hilton too. I was told that any other paying event that is there takes precedence over you! I went to check the place out on a Saturday, around the time I would have been there. It was the LI soccer associations awards ceremony or something. Every 6-12 year-old in Nassau must have been there! They were running around like maniacs--you never would have gotten a descent picture--and the pool was insane--you would have been soaked if you tried to take pics and the floor was so bad I slipped and fell down the stairs, and I was only in sneakers, not heels. Also, I heard they have some pool party thing there every weekend. Seems like they are more of a hassle than they are worth!

Arent the grounds at the Crest Hollow really nice ??? - Why do you want to go somewhere else ? - My cousin booked 2 rooms in the Mansion @ Westbury Gardens - in preparation for rain. - i'm not sure of the fee though

I think you might have better luck on a Friday. I would call and ask what other events are going to be there that weekend--besides weddings! You might get really lucky! Good Luck!
