Has anyone been to a wedding at Tappan Hill

It is upstate tarrytown, New York. I am going on Nov. 5, Friday. I don't have any idea what it would be like regarding the food and reception site. Anyone with experience on this place

Is it a mansion? If it is I was there recently. It was night and had a beautiful view. The food was OK but I didn't care forthe selection, however that may have been the bride and grooms choice. The room we werein was nice but maybe a little small. I dont know if they haveother rooms though. I'll see if I can find some pics for you. FM me if you have any other questions!

I've never been, but a friend of a friend is getting married there this sumer. It is catered by Abagail Kirsch, same as NYBG, so it is a little expensive.
I thikn its fancy--the response to someone gettign married there is usually, Ooh, Tappan Hil .

It should be nice--have a great time!

I went to a wedding there and the place itself is just beautiful. However the concensus from the wedding was that the food was very bad. Again - maybe it was based on the couple's choices.

I was at a wedding there recently and I am surprised to hear the food was bad. The food was TOP NOTCH. Abigail Kirsch is great.
The place is very nice, cocktail hour room is a little snug but it is overall a very nice place.

I was not married at Tappen Hill, but I was married at the NYBG. They are both catered by Abigail Kirsch. The food at my wedding was amazing!!!!!! The service was fantastic!!!!! It was a little more money then I had wanted to spend, but when we met with them we knew that they were going to take great care of us and we were 110% right.

I went to a wedding there in 2002. Actually it was in November and outside...brrrrrrr. As far as I know all went well. My choice was surf and turf and they continuously poured champagne all night. I was in the bridal party... long story that had nothing to do with Tappan Hill but rather the couple, unfortunately, I had to break ties with them so I didn't get any feedback later on about anyone else's opinion. The food was great and trust me I needed that contiinuous champagne (I was the groom's 'best person' and the bride was jealous and basically kept trying to embarass me and told a lot of lies about me). The house was once Mark Twain's.

I do remember one thing... when we came in from the outdoor ceremony I would have appreciated a hot drink at the cocktail hour... cider or something... it was absolutely freezing. The rooms were nice but I've seen 'grander' places elsewhere.

My step-sister got married there 2 years ago. The place was beautiful but the food was... I'll just say that when looking for a hall for my wedding I avoided any place that was Abigail Kirsch. I was not impressed and our parents were pretty disappointed as well.
