Has anyone been to a wedding at the Pridwin in Shelter Island?
I am still looking , but atleast I am down to the final 2 locations however they are complete opposites!!!!!!
I saw the pridwin yesterday and it is a pretty hotel on the water in shelter island. It has a great deck and would be a lovely elegant seaside wedding (if it does not rain!!!!!) Has anyone been to a wedding here? It is not a typical wedding location but I know they host 20-25 weddings a year. Any feedback would be good. Thanks!

never went to a wedding there but I stayed there for a few days last summer and loved it. The accommodations are a little rustic - but I thought they were fine. the food is fantastic - the one thing though - if you get married there I think there's a two night minimum for your guests to stay in the hotel, which is not cheap.

I'm glad to hear the food was good. I know it will be an expensive trip for my guests.

Heres the 'Review' from northforkweddings. I considered it, but the rates were a bit too high for my season.
The Pridwin Hotel Shelter Island, NY 631-749-0476 or 800-273-2497 www.pridwin.com Imagine a crescent shaped beach with crystal clear waters. In the distance sail boats pushed by sea breezes glide on calm waters, and the opposite shores are lushly green. The blue sky is broken by a few puffy clouds and an osprey on wing; music and laughter are the only sounds. Thousands of miles from home? Nope! You're only 2 ½ hours from NYC at the incredibly gorgeous Pridwin Hotel on Shelter Island, nestled between North Fork Wine Country and the Hamptons. This complete resort can host up to 250 guests in its glass enclosed banquet room that opens to a huge water view deck. Guests staying in one of the many rooms available can enjoy the pool, tennis courts, and famous crescent beach. Whether for a wedding or corporate event, The Pridwin is perfect. Visit their web site and give their event planner, Alissa, a call.(A little tip: Ask her about rates for the 'shoulder season.' The island is beautiful in spring and fall).
It sounds gorgeous!

I went to a wedding on Shelter Island. It was amazing. I don't remember the place where the wedding took place....but I'll have to ask my cousin. It was on the water, with the ceremony outside, it was a gorgeous day and you could see all of the boats docked in the bay. It is really a beautiful place, the inside was a little small as was the cocktail hour. The rehearsal dinner was beautiful. It was at a golf club which seemed to be the highest point on the island. I loved it there, the food was great and so was the bar. The hotels were all pretty central to one another, it was such a cute town! The brunch was then held at an inn that was very close to the ferry dock. It was so nice to have a little getaway there. The only drawback was waiting on the ferry line to go back to long island.....it was so long.

Yes please find out where the reception was - it does not sound like the pridwin b/c it is not on a golf course - I'm familiar with the island but have not heard of a site on the golf course. I'm intrigued!
