Anyone been to costa rica? did you like it? what's there to do? would you go back?
i'm thinking of going there for our HM. also, anyplace close to there that you would do a few days in? like stay 5-6 nights in costa rica and then a few nights somewhere else thats close?

We went to Costa Rica last year for a week and absolutely fell in love with it. It's a gorgeous place and has lots to do. We went to the south (osa peninsula) and did the whole nature thing (stayed in the rainforest in a tent, hung out with monkeys and crabs), but there are also beautiful resorts and hotels (mostly around guanacaste). There's so much to do there (rainforest, volcano, cloud forest, city, beach), I'd spend at LEAST a week. Two weeks would be great! FM if you want more info!

we're going there for our honeymoon! we're going to arenal (hot springs, volcano), horseback riding, then to Monteverde (cloud forest reserve), Guanacaste, San Jose, river rafting...
there are beaches too, with surfing, but i'm not a big beach person so we're not doing that.
we wanted to add nicauragua on but it made it too expensive for us. panama is also nearby but from what i hear it's very similar to costa rica but not as touristy (yet).

We went to Costa Rica for our HM and it was amazing. We loved it. We stayed in Jaco at the Villa Caletas. I highly, highly recommend the hotel. It was perfect for a honeymoon. It's romantic and secluded with amazing spa services and great views of the ocean and sunset. If you look in my album, I have pics of the hotel. I personally didn't take those pictures but they are very accurate.
Less expensive hotels I would recommend would be the Marriott Los Suenos in Jaco, the Si Como No in Manuel Antonio, and Xandari, outside of Quepos. Also, the Paradisus Playa Conchal is an all-inclusive in Puntaneras which is north in Guanacaste.

I went to Costa Rica last October for one week. One piece of advice if you rent a car and drive, get a GPS! There are no addresses (like 123 Main Street) in Costa Rica. You will get lost without it. It was a lifesaver.
There is nothing in San Jose except the airport. We flew in and drive right out! We went to Arenal and stayed there for 3 nights. We went zip lining, hiking and my friend went horseback riding.
