We are looking into splitting our honeymoon between Aruba and Curacao. They are a 30 min flight apart, so I figured it might be nice to see two islands.
Anyone have input on Curacao? Where did you stay and would you recommend it?
Thanks!

Re: Has anyone been to Curacao?
I have been there on a cruise, but have never actually stayed there. The day we were there we went swimming with the dolphins, which was a lot of fun. Personally, I don't think I would want to stay there (I am also so in love with Aruba). It didn't seem like there was that much else to do, but it might have just been the area where we were!

Re: Has anyone been to Curacao?
Funny bc one of the hotels I researched (Renaissance by Marriott I think) has an infinity pool that is on the ocean front, and it says you can watch the ships go in and out of port.
The main city is Willemstad, and there seems to be some historical stuff to do. Not sure that we would do that, but we would venture out for dinner etc.
Just unsure I am going to want to pack it up after 4 amazing days in Aruba, since I know I love it there from stopping on a Cruise yrs back.

ITA - there is no way I would want to leave Aruba after 4 days! If you are feeling adventurous, I would say try Curacao, however, since it is your HM maybe just stay and enjoy Aruba - it is sooo beautiful!!!!!! And you could always visit Curacao on a cruise....maybe for your 1 year anniversary

I am just so torn on honeymoon, and have too many ideas floating in my head. It's turning out to be more difficult than wedding plans!
Fh is no help. He says 'give me a pool and drinks and I am fine.'
This is why I am having a hard time justifying Hawaii or Greece, bc we can save money by going to the Carib or Mexico, if that is all he wants.

Re: Has anyone been to Curacao?
here are today's ideas: (put your seatbelt on)
1. Aruba and Curacao 2. Carib cruise starting and ending in Barbados, then stay a few nights in Barbados at a nice resort. 3. Playa Mujeres, thanks to Andrea and her Excellence post. It looks ahhhmazing! 4. Hawaii - always on my mind but such a LONG TRIP and expense.

I have never been to Curacao or Aruba.. however I know a million people who have been to Aruba and just love it! I don't know that you will want to leave after just 4 days. However, I did look into Curacao and it looked pretty fabulous!

Crashing...
I've been to Curacao. It's your typical, poverty stricken island. While you're in the resort area, it's beautiful, much like every other island.
Nightlife = nada, zip, zilch.
Curacao is known for broken coral at the shore edge, so water shoes are pretty much a must.
SIghtseeing: There are some interesting things to see. Curacao is home to the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. The area where the synagogue is (main town) is pretty and there are some beautiful photo ops.
Fort Nassau - One of the most beautiful restaurants I've seen on an island. It's an old fort that's been converted to a restaurant. There's something cavelike about it even though it's actualy perched on a cliff with incredible views.
If you're looking for nightlife, this is not the place for it. If you're looking to relax, lounge around, and have daytime activities, you'll likely enjoy it. If I were you, I'd stay put in Aruba and save Curacao for another time

Re: Has anyone been to Curacao?
My best friend was there with his his then boyfriend and loved every second of it. Beautiful weather, beautiful beaches. He couldn't say enough good things about it. We were thinking about looking into it for our Honeymoon as well.
