It is beautiful!!!! But the reason why we didn't go is b/c the travel agent had to warn us that there is a lot of Malaria (disease) out there from the past hurricanes. And that just freaked us out totally!!!!!!! So we're going to Mexico instead!

I know I spelled the name of the disease wrong. I would ask all about it. I am sure there is nothing to worry about, but the fact that it was mandatory for her to mention that, just turned us off completely.

don't make your decsion based on what I said. Do your research, ask somebody else. Ask another travel agent.

My FH and I went there 2 years ago. We had an OK time. Some parts of the island have beautiful beaches. Ours did not, and our resort was not the best, totally filled with kids and the food was terrible. If you are going to look into it, check out the reviews on trip advisor.

Sorry, that is one place I have never been. I don't think it would be the best place to go. The resort might be beautiful, but its probably not the best place to be walking around the town in. Also the Malaria outbreaks would scare me.
