I went to look at Fountainhead and Glen Island. I loved Glen Island but they were booked for my date. Both are beautiful places.

Re: Has anyone checked out places in New Rochelle?
We went to on of the halls in New Rochelle - it's on a road with about 4 other halls on it and it's the last one on the road and it's called Beckwithe Point.
They were all nice on the outside and the one we went into was nice inside. The whole room is shaped like an L and one one side you had cocktails and on the other side you have the reception. Windows faced the water. They quoted us $90 pp (without tax). We could not afford that much. I think most of the places up there are going to be around that. It's certainly not a bad price, but we couldn't afford it.
If you're looking at places in Westchester I've been to a few others so you can FM me if you want to know about some other places.

Re: Has anyone checked out places in New Rochelle?
We got married at VIP Country Club in May which is also on that road, we loved it there. The food and service were great and we loved the look of it also. My guests had nothing but great things to say about it. We also liked it because no one really heard of it before or had been there. I highly recommend them. Glen Island was beautiful too but for the amount of people we were having they would give us the small room which I didn't think was impressive for the price. Good luck, let us know what you choose.

Which ones are you looking at?
I went to quite a few of them:
Davenport Club- It is in an old Mansion- the price is very reasonable (gratuities are included in the price) It really did nothing for me. I t was one big room and it looked really bland- nothing romantic about it.
Greentree Country Club- It was very nice inside- I liked the look of it- the only thing that bothered me was that the grounds were so far- maybe it was me. I wanted to have an outdoor ceremony and I felt like it was such a hike to get to the beach. I went to a wedding there once- the food was ok.
Beckwithe Pointe- Really pretty- the view is amazing. I went to a wedding there it was great!!
VIP Country Club- Spectacular, beautiful. I would have loved to get married here, but it was out of my price range. This place is very classy.

VIP Country Club is AMAZING!!! Fh and I went to a wedding there in July and it was the best wedding I've been to so far. The food was UNBELIEVABLE, the hall is gorgeous and the service is fabulous. You really can't go wrong with this place.
Good Luck

Re: Has anyone checked out places in New Rochelle?
i'm not very familiar with new rochelle, but i just went to a wedding this past weekend at VIP. The grounds of the place were very very pretty, but the lobby had some weird table right in the middle with a tablecloth half-on, half-off when we walked in, so it was kind of unsightly. The room where the reception was held was really lovely and spacious, so there was lots of room to move around. The cocktail hour had TONS of food choices, and overall I would rate the food as OK. just giving my honest opinion, best of luck in your search!!
