Has anyone considered Australia for the honeymoon?
It's a toss up between Australia and Hawaii. Any pros and cons to either? Your suggestions would be most helpful .
Thanks

We are considering it. The biggest downside (at least at the moment) is the time lost going and coming back. Upsides for us, though, include a combination of relax on the beach, adventure, and urban (and wine!). The US dollar is doing pretty well against the Australian dollar, too. We are also considering Tahiti.

We considered it. But with only two weeks for our honeymoon, we decided that it would not be enough time to see Australia the way we wanted to see it.

Friends of mine did it. They went when it was their winter, our summer and went skiing. They said they paid less for what one would pay for going to Hawaii. But this was 4 years ago.
It's an option if you go while they are having their winter! And my cousin lived there for a year and loved it.

Besides the airfare, everything else is cheap in Aussie. We would love to go but don't have enough vacation time!

YES, YES and YES!!! You should definitely go. The people are friendly, the country is beautiful and it is definitely a place that you will never probably go to again (since it's so far away). When you leave the States and arrive in Australia you will have lost a day but when you get back home, you gain a day. It's weird how it works. I loved it! I've been there twice. The first time was for two weeks. The second time I went backpacking and wound up travelling the whole country for 6 months! It was awesome. Definitely see most of the East Coast if you can. There is a place called Fraser Island which is awesome!! A must see.. I would never say no to Australia It's one of my favorite places in the whole world... New Zealand is also beautiful but I would definitely do Oz first.
