Has anyone else had an extremely wrinkled train when they brought the gown home?
Hi everyone, I can't believe it's MY turn to say our big day is almost here. The stress and exhaustion is beyond belief, and this weather has not helped. I know there are other girls getting married this week-end, and I pray you are having an easier time of it than my daughter is. I will definitely be back next week with my side of the story, but for now we have an unexpected problem. First girls, I have to say...always be prepared for last minute unexpected problems! It's inevitable. You will lose time in ways you never would have believed. WE had a few such adventures, but the most crucial right now involves the bridal gown. When we got home from Bridal Reflections and opened the train, we found deep creases and wrinkles. I don't know what to do. I phoned BR and it was so easy for them to say to just bring it back and they can press it. I bit my tongue VERY hard to not say 'What the h*** did you do BEFORE we picked it up?' Anyway, there is no way we have the time to drive half an hour each way to have it pressed and with this weather who wants to chance being caught in the rain with it? As it was we missed it by less than half and hour yesterday. I don't know if we would be so lucky twice.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. The gown is silk satin, and I do have a steamer. I just don't know if I have the nerve to attempt steaming it myself because they occasionally spurt water. I can even pull the train onto the dining room table and press it with a dry iron. But again, I'm kind of afraid to touch it. It did improve overnight a little by hanging loose, but still not enough.
I am anxious to hear if you've had this happen and what you did, if anything. I know it will only get wrinkled in the limo but we want to take pictures of it on the hanger as everyone does and it hurts to see how bad it looks.
Thanks for everything all of you! All the best to the other brides who will be getting married this week-end.
