has anyone ever been a 'secret shopper'?

no, but i've been secret shopped! i think it is good but being shopped as a waitress was horrible. we'd scruitnize every customer wondering if they were shoppers and then be paranoid if we forgot say our name or ask if they'd like more bread. when we got rid of being shopped, the job was so muchnicer. but stores need them. however, i THINK nsgraham was doing it, so maybe do a search.

A few friends of mine have done and I have gone with them to one of them. There are websites that you can go on to sign up for them. I would just go on to google or something to find them......Good Luck!

What the heck is that?

I did it once... its really hard to get the shops because they choose people who have more experience first. There is also some kind of certification you can get, and some of the companies chose people with that. It doesn't pay much, like $10 a shop and most of the time you DON't get to keep what you bought, either a return is part of the shop or you return it yourself. Your are buying it with your own money and do not get reimbursed. The ones that they do pay for the product are restuarant and movie theater shops.
Don't pay anyone to get the names of the secret shopping companies, its really easy to find them online of you do a search.

At my old company, that was part of what they did. A few of my friends did it for them (for my company's clients). They had fun & also had to do bars. We went to high tea once at the Plaza.

I'm not so sure about the companies online looking for secret shoppers though.

There are companies that hire people to shop at a store, eat in a restaurant, etc & review the service. Then this company gives the results to the business. They use it as random checks on their employees performance.

Speaking of secret shopper...I think I just got secret shopped!

It was kind of obvious and honestly, I dont really care.....Its my p/t JOB!
