never been to Florence.

but, I vote for Rome over Naples. However, the ferry to Capri is in Naples. So, there's a benefit to staying in Naples...

I didn't understand your question.....do you want to know which place to visit or what hotel you should stay in at each place?!?
If the question was where to stay for honeymoon......
I would say Rome.....but the Amalfi Coast in Naples is absolutely beautiful and Florence is amazing too......If you are into art and history or art/renaissance I would say definately go to Florence - if you are looking for a place too relax in and have fun but really do notwant to go sight seeing I would say Amalfi COast in Naples......I love Rome and always went therewhen I was a child to visit my aunt - so much to see and do! I hope this helps.

Florence was beautiful, there is alot to do in Rome, but it reminds me of Manhattan, I vote for Naples, even though I fell in absolute love with Venice. So romantic and beautiful, alot to see, and one of my favorite parts was just sitting at one of the cafe's in San marco square listening to the classical music play...Oh if my FH would fly for 8hrs i would be there for my honeymoon!!

I've been to all three already so if I had to go back, I'd go to Florence. It's beautiful, with good shopping and restaurants. I wouldn't go back to Rome only b/c it reminded me of NYC BUT if you've never seen it, that's where the major tourism areas are and you'll want to go. I thought Naples was dirty and nothing special (and that's where my family is from!) but someone above said that it's closest to get to Capri, which is AMAZING. Depends on what you are looking for. If you want to just relax, or tour, etc.

Are you just going to one place? It depends what you want to do. We just came back from our honeymoon there. From what you named we went to Florence and Amalfi. In Florence we stayed about 10 minutes outside of the city in Fiesole. I loved it. We shopped, toured around, took a cooking class and went on some wine tours. For the more relaxing stop we went to Positano and Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. We went to Capri for the day and then the beach or pool every other day. It was great. I wouldn't recommend staying in Naples, but in one of the other towns on the coast. It depends what you want? Relaxing or touring?

Although I've not been to Rome or Naples, I've been to Florence, Milan, and different spots on the Riviera.

I LOVED Florence. There just isn't enough time in the world to spend there. It's fantastically beautiful -- my art history book came to life! And, it's so close to so many other wonderful places to visit: Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano. I can't wait to go there again. It's romantic -- truly what you expect Italy to be all about.

I've been to Venice, Florence and Rome.

Venice was absolutely beautiful! So different then anywhere I have ever been. No cars.. no motorcycles... just people walking around, or taking gondola rides. So romantic and relaxing.

Florence was gorgeous as well... but definitely more busy. Motorcycles wizzing around everywhere and definitely a lot more people and shops.

Rome was wonderful, but definitely a lot like NYC. Pretty busy, but yet you can still find some places to go and relax.

All in all, Italy is beautiful and if I had a choice, I would go back to all 3 in a heartbeat!

I've never been to Naples. Only Rome, Florence and Venice.

Where you stay really does depend on what you and FI want. If you want to be in a city but also sightsee and look at ruins, then Rome. If you want museums and shopping, Florence.
