My BF went there about 2 years ago. They had a great time. They really liked it there.

It's pretty, and the beaches are the nicest on the Texas gulf coast. But it depends on when you go...it is a very popular destination for high school and college kids on spring break, so it becomes a huge party town at certain times of the year. Maybe that's what you're looking for (and if so, you'll have a great time!), but if you want more of a quiet, romantic getaway, don't go in the spring.

Yep... lived in Texas for 13 years.. S. Padre Island was THE place to vacation.
Its nice.. but as said, dont go in spring.. my god the crowds of people!!!
