Has anyone ever donated furniture to goodwill? Do they come pick it up?

My co-worker attempted to do this.
They do come to pick it up-- but the furniture has to be in absolute perfect condition. She said the inspected everything carefully. No spots, stains, chips etc. They rejected her furniture after she took off a whole day off to wait for them to come!

I did and brought it to them and they took everything. Maybe b/c they felt since we lugged it to them, they would take it anyway?

WOW! That sounds crazy. It's used furniture. Thanks for the warning.

Yep even Vincent DePaul did that to us. We had two couches that they wouldn't take. They re-sell them in the thrift stores. They told us that Seamans donates new stuff to them so how could they sell our old beat up stuff.

Yeah she was pretty bummed... she was trying to do something nice, but they wouldn't take it. She was very sad to just let the garbage men take it.

I did but not to Good Will. I think it was Heritage for the Blind. They took everything I gave em with no problems.

I tired to donate hotel furniture to them when we redid the rooms, but they didn't want it. It was in perfect condition but they wouldn't come to look at it.

Technically, it is illegal to sell mattresses - I don't know if you can give it away tho. (At least that's what I've heard.)

My mom called the Vietnam Vets and they were iffy about taking our furniture from when my sis and I were kids, but they did take it.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is supposed to be pretty easy going too.

Partnership for the homeless is the best/ they'll take just about anyting and as long as you have 2 or more pieces they wlll come to you and pick it up. they also take toys, clothing, etv

Okay, I called Goodwill and they said they don't accept furniture, but they suggested Salvation Army. They are coming for my stuff on Friday!
