Has anyone ever gone to a psychic?

Has anyone ever gone to a psychic?

Why did you choose to go?

What was the experience like?

Would you (or did you) go a second or third time?

Where was it? Who was it? How did you select the person?

I've been to a few at fairs and stuff. Just for entertainment. The first one I ever went to really seemed right on. The others were okay, but not as interesting...

Penn and Teller did a show on psychics and it was so so funny because they videotaped psychics at work and they showed just how much the psychic plays off of you, and reads you, and manipulates to sound 'correct.' I don't know if all psychics are frauds..but the ones who are really have it down to a science.

I think Penn & Teller are frauds! Don't get me wrong, we enjoy their show on Sho (or HBO?) but they make my head spin sometimes! Seriously! And while I think there has to be some level of exploitation out there, I think that true psychics do exisit. And the best ones probably can't be found at the local feast or on the street corner handing out business cards.

I love their show. I LOVE it. But I take a lot of what they say with a grain of salt, especially recently. I think this last season was really...I don't know. They are becoming less and less balanced in what they show.

The first time I went to a lady on Broome Street, NYC - she just approached me like she knew me so I went in (that and it was $5). It was strange because she looked at my palms and just knew all of these thing about me - like that I was moving, that I have a horrible temper. Her predictions weren't totally accurate but I wasn't surprised by that.

The second time I went was on Bourbon Street, New Orleans, because my friend was dying to go. The staff kept telling us how wonderful the psychic was - he was TOTALLY off on us but he was dead on about my friend's sister (weird). Lost $25 to that!
